The Most Valuable Life Lessons
"It’s not unusual in life that you learn the most valuable lessons when you’re forced to deal with hardship. Our learning experience occurred in 2009 when my partner, Dena, was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. Luckily the condition is not life threatening, but it does cause seizures that are treated with several medications. While I, Jaime, was lucky enough to get pregnant we realized the importance of being prepared for the unlikeliest of medical problems. We wanted to feel secure in knowing that whatever adversity our child would face medically we would have the ability to help him. We had a wonderful experience using donor sperm from FamilyCord’s partner, CCB. Thus it was an obvious choice to store our child’s cord blood with FamilyCord so as to ensure a long healthy life for our precious son, Gideon.
